Russia Warns of Potential Global Nuclear Disaster Following US Strikes in Iran

Russia has issued a stark warning after the United States conducted attacks on three Iranian nuclear facilities, describing the actions as opening a “Pandora’s box” that could lead to a worldwide nuclear catastrophe. The Russian UN Ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, emphasized the unpredictability of the consequences, urging for de-escalation and mediation to prevent further suffering.

In a show of force, the US launched 30 Tomahawk missiles from submarines targeting Iran’s key nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. President Donald Trump announced the success of the operation, claiming the aim was to dismantle Iran’s nuclear capability and halt the threat posed by Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Trump described the strikes as a “spectacular military success” and warned Iran that its nuclear facilities have been “completely and totally obliterated.” He urged Iran to pursue peace, warning that failure to do so could result in larger, more formidable attacks in the future. The operation was conducted shortly after Israel launched extensive attacks on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
