NYPD Cars Burned by Anti-Israel Protester — Shocking Identity Revealed!
The suspect linked to the recent arson attack on multiple NYPD vehicles in Brooklyn has been identified as a 21-year-old anti-Israel protester known for multiple protests and arrests, authorities said.
Authorities issued a photo of Jakhi Lodgson-McCray via social media as they search for him in connection with the destruction of 11 police cars last week, which caused damage estimated at over $800,000. He is also accused of vandalizing a statue during a disruptive Columbia University protest.
“There is zero tolerance for anyone who attacks the NYPD,” said the department via X (formerly Twitter).
Police confirmed they identified Lodgson-McCray four days after the June 12 incident, with surveillance footage showing him acting alone for about 40 minutes before the attack. Authorities noted he changed clothing during his escape, with his face obscured by a hoodie and mask, but surveillance tracked him back to Manhattan.
Authorities believe Lodgson-McCray acted alone during the attack on a police facility, with surveillance images placing him near the scene. He also has an extensive record that includes resisting arrest at an anti-ICE protest in January 2023 and involvement in protests such as flag burning at foreign embassies and anti-Israeli demonstrations.
He faces two open cases: resisting arrest in Manhattan from late May, when he was released without bail, and an assault and resisting charge in Queens from May 15.
