Michelle Obama Fears ‘Oh, Mary!’ Antics Could Land Her in Page Six!
Michelle Obama revealed in a recent interview that she was apprehensive about being photographed or featured in gossip columns when she attended a Broadway performance of “Oh, Mary!”.
“I often sneak in afterward so no one recognizes me… I didn’t fully understand what ‘Oh, Mary!’ was about,” she shared on the “Las Culturistas” podcast, hosted by Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. “A lot of times I don’t want to be seen, so I slip in quietly.”
Her visit was subtle, but the production received a shoutout on social media afterward, with a special greeting from the cast after learning of her attendance.
Michelle, who shares daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24, with Barack Obama, has previously expressed concerns about her family’s privacy and media exposure. During her speech at a podcast, she mentioned that she worried her daughters might be featured in gossip columns, especially during their White House years when social media presence became unavoidable.
She reflected on the heightened scrutiny her children faced as young White House residents, especially with the growing influence of social media. “Their childhoods were different because of the cameras everywhere,” she explained.
