Jury’s Surprising Question Sparks Hope: Karen Read Could Be Nearly Freed!

The jury involved in the high-profile Karen Read murder case posed a question to the presiding judge that hints they might be considering an acquittal on most charges.

Jurors inquired whether a verdict would be considered a hung jury if they found Read not guilty of two charges but couldn’t reach a decision on the third.

Judge Beverly Cannone responded that she could not provide an answer.

“It’s a theoretical question, and we don’t respond to such questions,” she stated. “Jurors should not worry about the potential outcomes of their decision.”

Read, aged 45, is charged with hitting her Boston police boyfriend with her vehicle and leaving him gravely injured outside a house party in January 2022. Her charges include second-degree murder, manslaughter, and related offenses.

This case marks her second trial after the initial one resulted in a mistrial last year.
