Will Taylor Swift Ever Finish Re-Recording ‘Reputation’? Shocking Truth Revealed!

Taylor Swift’s plan to re-record her albums for “Taylor’s Version” might be less urgent now that she has regained the rights to her original masters. Her recent purchase of her catalog, including albums like “Reputation,” means her effort to re-record these works could become unnecessary.

Unlike before, Swift is taking her time with re-recording the 2017 album “Reputation,” which was heavily influenced by her relationship with Joe Alwyn, whom she dated from 2016 to 2023, according to sources.

“It was about not revisiting songs that reflected her time with Joe,” a close insider explained, emphasizing her reluctance to dive back into that emotional headspace for “Reputation.”

Swift, after buying back her catalog from Shamrock Capital for approximately $360 million, no longer feels nostalgic for “Reputation” as she once did. taylorswift/X

On May 30, she announced via a heartfelt letter that she had reclaimed her entire music portfolio, including recordings, videos, artwork, and unreleased tracks, after her purchase from Shamrock Capital.

Despite her success, Swift admitted she hasn’t re-recorded much of “Reputation” yet because the album is very specific to that time in her life. Internal sources suggest she has only re-recorded a few “snarl and mischief” songs like “Ready for It,” and possibly “Getaway Car” and “I Did Something Bad.”

Swift confessed she hasn’t re-recorded “Reputation” in full. “The album was specific to that period, and I kept hitting a stopping point,” she explained. It might be re-released in a 10th-anniversary edition in 2027.

Now romantically linked with NFL star Travis Kelce, Swift’s personal life has shifted from Alwyn. Page Six did not get a comment from her representatives about her catalog rights.

In addition to her previous albums, Swift has re-recorded her debut “Taylor Swift” (2006), feeling satisfied with how it now sounds. An insider noted that her first album has a different feel since it’s impossible to replicate her early voice authentically, leading to speculation it might be re-released on its 20th anniversary.
