Grace Jones & Janelle Monae Party All Night After Brooklyn Concert—You Won’t Believe What Happens!
Grace Jones and Janelle Monae kept the energy high after their performance at the Blue Note Jazz Festival in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on Monday night.
The pair started with a four-hour set as part of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!.
Monae performed first, with Jones later showing off her signature moves, such as “lifting her leg on a bar in Fosse ‘Hey Big Spender’ style,” according to fans. Jones even sipped red wine mid-performance and hula-hooped through an entire encore. Monae joined her on stage in an energetic finale, with both grooving and sharing a quick kiss, the eyewitness said.
The evening ended around 11 p.m., then the artists moved to Manhattan, celebrating further at Ian Schraeger’s Public Roof. An afterparty, hosted by Monae’s friend Legendary Damon, kept the celebration going late into the night.
Jones made a grand entrance in a vintage-inspired leather helmet and goggles, then entered the club with Monae around 1 a.m. They mingled with New York insiders, including 1980s style icon Diane Brill and nightlife personality Ariel Palitz.
A guest who left around 3 a.m. said the party was still lively, with Jones and Monae showing no signs of slowing down. The event felt intimate, with a mix of young dancers and longtime nightlife enthusiasts.
