Brooke Shields’ Explosive Attack on Meghan Markle Sparks Outrage — Podcast Removed!
Brooke Shields’ recent podcast appearance, where she criticized Meghan Markle’s “too precious” attitude during a SXSW event, has been removed.
The episode on India Hicks’ “An Unexpected Journey” podcast, which debuted earlier this month, now links to a “page not found” message.
The actress, who recently attended the 2025 Tony Awards, has not issued a public statement regarding the removal or her comments about Markle.
Representatives for Shields, Hicks, and Markle have not responded to inquiries.
In the now-deleted episode, Shields recounted Markle starting their panel with a story about advocating for gender equality at age 11.
“Katie asks Meghan a question, and she begins with a serious story about how she was already championing women’s rights,” Shields explained. “She said, ‘When I was 11, I saw an ad about women washing dishes and thought, that’s not fair!’”
Shields emphasized, “She kept saying she was 11!”
On the episode, Shields recalled Markle’s awkward opening with her story about persuading a soap company to change their slogan from “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans” to “People all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”
“It was just too precious, and I thought, ‘They won’t want to sit here for 45 minutes listening to someone be that serious,’” Shields shared.
Shields also shared she interrupted to make a light joke, referencing her 1978 film, “Pretty Baby,” saying, “When I was 11, I was playing a prostitute.” She noted that the audience relaxed after her comment.
She added, “The crowd went insane,” and that her attempt to lighten the mood made the atmosphere more comfortable.
She explained, “I said, ‘Excuse me, I need to stop you just a moment,’ trying to be humorous,” before joking about her childhood role.
Previously, Shields shared her childhood story where a young Markle asked Procter & Gamble to modify their Ivory soap slogan, changing it from “Women fighting greasy pots and pans” to “People fighting greasy pots and pans.”
