Lainey Wilson Shares a Key Rule for Maintaining Her Relationship with Fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges

Country singer Lainey Wilson recently discussed how she keeps her relationship strong with her fiancé, former NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges. In an interview, she emphasized the importance of intentional time together despite their busy schedules.

Wilson explained that carving out dedicated moments is essential. “You have to definitely carve out the time. It has to be something you’re very aware of, and you think, ‘Okay, I’ve got a day off here in 10 days. I’ve got to dedicate that day to spend time with my person,’” she shared.

She added that both she and Hodges value these moments and try to make the most of them: “And we both need that and deserve that, and it’s always great. We just try to soak up those moments as best as we possibly can.”

The artist described Hodges as her “best friend,” praising his kind nature and support. “He is one of the purest hearts and people that I have ever met. He is my biggest cheerleader,” Wilson said. “We don’t really play by the rules.”

Given their busy lives and different locations, she shared that their relationship is unique. “It’s a lot different than a normal relationship,” she explained. “We don’t get to see each other all the time, and I do live a lot of my life on the road, so we’re also kind of figuring it out as we go, which is fun.”

Wilson and Hodges began dating in 2021 and publicly confirmed their relationship in March 2023 during the ACM Awards.
