Adam Levine Claims Blake Shelton Tricked Him into Buying a $5,000 Teacup Pig
Adam Levine Reveals Blake Shelton Pranked Him Into Buying a $5,000 ‘Teacup Pig’
The former Voice judge Blake Shelton once tricked Adam Levine into spending $5,000 on a miniature pig, which turned out to be much larger than expected.
Levine explained that Shelton convinced him to buy the pig for his then-girlfriend, Behati Prinsloo, claiming it was a “teacup pig” that would stay tiny. “My now wife, then girlfriend, said she wanted a teacup pig,” Levine shared. “I asked Blake, ‘What’s a teacup pig?’ and he said, ‘I’ll get you one for five grand.’”
The couple quickly realized they couldn’t care for the pig, which squealed and screamed constantly. After only three weeks, they found a new home for it on a farm, requesting updates with pictures. Several months later, they learned the pig had grown to around 400 pounds.
Levine recounted his shock when seeing the pictures: “What if this animal had grown so big in my house?!” He confronted Shelton, teasing him about the scam. “Blake, bro, $5,000 for a pig that wasn’t a micro pig?” Shelton’s reply was blunt: “You’re an idiot! There’s no such thing as f—ing teacup pigs, you dumbass!”
Levine also revealed that Shelton refused to return the money, jokingly calling the prank a “pretty good joke” at his expense. It turns out that true “teacup” pigs are often just small potbellied pigs that are falsely advertised, capable of growing over 100 pounds.
The two celebrities, who starred together for over 16 seasons of The Voice, have shared many memorable moments. Levine left the show in 2019 but returned this year for the 27th season, while Shelton departed after season 23 and now works as a producer for a new country music series.
