Michigan Family Heartbroken as Teen Who Caused 100 MPH Crash Gets No Jail—Shocking Verdict!

A Michigan family is devastated after the driver responsible for their son Flynn MacKrell’s death received a lenient sentence. Tague, 18, who caused a 105-mph crash during his college winter break, was originally charged with second-degree murder but later pled to manslaughter with a motor vehicle.

At just 16, Tague was charged as an adult, allowing the court to decide his sentence. On June 13, 2025, Judge Mark McClory sentenced him to probation at a Level 2 juvenile facility, with the possibility of release upon successful treatment. If violations occur, he could face 19-38 months behind bars.

Judge McClory’s decision prompted outrage from MacKrell’s family. His mother, Anne Vanker, expressed her frustration: “No justice, just suffering.”

MacKrell’s mother criticized Tague’s family for knowingly enabling dangerous behavior. Texts revealed Tague’s mother, Elizabeth Puleo-Tague, was aware of his reckless driving and even called him out for speeding two months before the crash, yet allowed him to use her new BMW.

Comparing Puleo-Tague to Ethan Crumbley’s parents, Vanker stated, “She handed him a weapon, knowing he’s out of control.”

Vanker revealed she was unaware of her son Tague’s reckless habits until after his death. Prosecutors declined to charge Puleo-Tague. Tague publicly expressed remorse, saying, “My heart is heavy with grief and regret.”

Flynn’s family continues to mourn their loss, feeling justice was not served. The story highlights ongoing concerns about accountability and the importance of responsible parenting when it comes to dangerous driving behavior.
