Alabama Fireworks Mishap Turns Boat into Fireball on Fourth of July, Six Hospitalized
Fireworks Mishap on Lake Martin Leaves Six Injured
A poorly executed fireworks setup in Alabama resulted in a dramatic explosion on a boat, injuring six men and forcing the cancellation of the traditional Fourth of July celebration.
Set ablaze on Lake Martin, the fireworks were launched from a boat rigged as a makeshift platform. Due to a malfunction in the illegal rocket setup, a large explosion occurred, sending a cascade of sparks and lights into the night sky.
Social media footage revealed a massive burst of red, white, and blue lights that rained down and exploded over the water, with subsequent images showing the aftermath— a charred platform covered in soot and abandoned sneakers nearby.
Fortunately, the crew involved sustained only minor injuries and received treatment at local hospitals. The incident prompted officials to halt the long-standing annual fireworks display, which is now under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Fire Marshal’s Office.
