Thai Model Attacked in NYC Subway by Out-on-Bail Ex-Convict

Thai Model Attacked and Robbed at Brooklyn Subway Station

An aspiring Thai model was assaulted and robbed at a Brooklyn subway station in Bushwick, leaving her bloodied and traumatized. The incident occurred on June 22 at the Chauncey Street station, where she was seen pleading for her attacker to stop in a disturbing video.

According to authorities, Lewis Doctor, 54, allegedly attacked the 26-year-old woman after grabbing her by the throat and shoving her against a wall. He then repeatedly punched her, knocked her to the ground, and continued the assault while wearing a ring, resulting in injuries including a split lip and facial cuts. During the attack, he also stole her iPhone, AirPods, handbag, debit card, and other valuables valued at approximately $1,400.

Doctor fled the scene but was arrested three days later. The woman, who had arrived in the U.S. from Thailand a year and a half ago, is currently studying English and preparing a modeling portfolio. She expressed gratitude for her survival and encouragement for others to stay safe.

The victim described her ordeal, which she captured on her phone, where she can be heard begging, “Please, please.” Photographs taken after the attack show her with a cut on her chin and blood streaming down her neck and chest.

This attack bears similarities to a previous incident in 2021 involving another aspiring Thai model, who was assaulted and robbed at the Herald Square station.

Lawyer Eric Parnes criticized the ongoing violence and questioned when serious actions would replace empty words, emphasizing that the victim was simply trying to get home when attacked.

Doctor has been indicted on multiple charges, including first-degree assault and robbery, and faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. His criminal history includes a prior prison sentence spanning from 1998 to 2022 for robbery. Previously, he was released on bail after a 2024 robbery involving a BB gun, but he is currently held without bail following the recent incident.
