Pete Davidson Reveals Family Abuse During Comedy Set

Pete Davidson Shares Family Trauma During Performance

During a comedy show in New Jersey on Friday, comedian Pete Davidson opened up about a difficult family history. He revealed that his maternal grandfather was physically abusive toward him, stating he’s relieved that his grandfather is now battling lung cancer.

Davidson described his grandfather as an “old school dude” who suffers from emphysema and has trouble breathing. Despite this, the comedian expressed no sympathy, even saying he hopes his grandfather “rots” and is “thrilled” about his condition.

Pete Davidson said he was “low-key thrilled” that his grandfather was dying of lung cancer.

He shared that his grandfather struggles with breathing due to emphysema but maintains a cold attitude toward his decline. Despite his harsh words, Davidson emphasized his desire to support his mother, Amy Davidson, who remains saddened by her father’s illness.

The comedian still wants to be there for his mother, who is “sad” about her father’s passing.

He reflected on his childhood, recalling it as “shitty,” especially after losing his father, Scott Davidson, a NYC firefighter who died during the September 11 attacks. Davidson expressed a shift toward a more positive outlook, prioritizing close family and friends and rejecting unnecessary pressure.

Davidson stated that his new mentality involves focusing on family and close friends rather than external pressures.

Recently, Davidson made headlines for a lavish purchase—spending nearly $31,000 on matching Rolex watches for himself and his girlfriend, model Elsie Hewitt, during a visit to Staten Island for the grand opening of a jewelry showroom.

He also emphasized that his core circle of family and a few friends are what truly matter to him, suggesting that others are less important, which aligns with his overall approach to life currently.
