FIFA Boss Reveals 2026 World Cup Final to Feature Epic Super Bowl-Style Halftime & Coldplay’s Secret Role!

FIFA Announces Spectacular Half-Time Show for 2026 World Cup Final

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has revealed that the upcoming 2026 World Cup final will feature an extravagant halftime performance inspired by the iconic Super Bowl shows. This marks an unprecedented addition to the tournament, which will be the largest in history with 48 teams competing across 16 cities in three countries.

The grand finale is scheduled for July 19 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with a capacity of 82,500 spectators. Infantino shared on social media that a show “befitting the biggest sporting event in the world” will take place after the first half. Collaborating with FIFA on the music lineup, British band Coldplay will help oversee the artist selection process.

While details about the duration of the halftime performance are yet to be confirmed, Infantino emphasized that this will be a historic moment for the tournament. He also announced that Times Square in New York City will host celebrations during the final weekend, including both the bronze and final matches, in partnership with Global Citizen.

Infantino expressed gratitude to Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans and Coldplay members Chris Martin and Phil Harvey for their support in organizing these spectacular events. The Super Bowl’s halftime shows, known for drawing massive global audiences, have historically featured top artists like Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, and Shakira. This year’s show was headlined by Kendrick Lamar with guest appearances by SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, and Serena Williams.

The 2026 tournament will significantly expand on previous editions, with matches held in 16 cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The U.S. will host 78 matches from the quarter-finals onward, while Canada and Mexico will each host 13 games, including the final stages.
