Max Aarons Pledges Ultimate Revenge on Russell Martin After Norwich City Mentorship!
Max Aarons Joins Rangers on Loan from Bournemouth
Max Aarons aims to repay a debt of gratitude to Russell Martin, the manager who helped launch his career, as he begins his loan spell at Rangers. The 25-year-old full-back, who previously played at Norwich City where Martin and his assistant Matt Gill were key figures, is eager to showcase his development at Ibrox.
Having moved from Norwich to Bournemouth for £7 million two years ago, Aarons also gained experience last season during a loan at Valencia. Now, he’s excited to join Rangers under Martin, reflecting on the supportive relationship that shaped his early years in professional football.
“Russell and Gilly played a huge role in my growth as a player,” Aarons said. “They believed in me from a young age and provided guidance that kick-started my career. Building a strong relationship with a coach is crucial, and now I feel everything has aligned perfectly for this move.”
He also expressed confidence about contributing immediately, noting his experience across various leagues and his readiness to face the challenges of a club like Rangers. “Playing for such a big club excites me,” he added. “The pressure will bring out my best, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Aarons has already begun preparing for the season, cutting short his holiday after Valencia and training intensively to be ready for the first qualifying rounds. His move to Rangers followed a failed attempt to join Southampton last year, when a bid was rejected while Martin was at St Mary’s.
Martin, who has known Aarons since his Norwich days, praised his talent and attitude, stating, “Max is eager to develop and help us succeed. I believe he will be a great addition.”
Rangers are also in negotiations with Leicester defender Conor Coady and keeping an eye on other potential signings, including Emmanuel Fernandez from Peterborough.
