Family Seeks ‘Halloween Miracle’ After Thief Steals 13-Foot Jack Skellington Animatronic

Family’s Halloween Decor Stolen in California

A family in California, known for their annual display of a large Jack Skellington figure from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” is hoping for a Christmas miracle after it was stolen before Halloween.

The 13-foot animatronic of the Pumpkin King had been a staple on their lawn, greeting trick-or-treaters and visitors throughout the season. This year, however, a thief took the beloved decoration, leaving the family devastated. The grandmother, Avelina Rodriguez, shared that her young granddaughter, whose first word was “Jack,” is especially upset by the loss.

The stolen 13-foot Jack Skellington was a cherished neighborhood icon.

Neighbors quickly showed support, with one neighbor offering surveillance footage. The footage revealed a hooded figure loading the skeleton onto a car roof shortly before dawn, driving away with it as if it were a Christmas tree.

The thief was seen hauling the skeleton down an alley on the early morning heist.

Rodriguez described the theft as reckless and upsetting, saying, “They came at 5 in the morning when it was dark, put him on top of the roof of a car — it’s insane!” Despite the setback, she remains hopeful that the decoration will be returned and hopes it will be a sign of hope this spooky season. She shared her desire for a Halloween miracle to restore happiness to her family and to reaffirm that hope exists.
