Florida Police Find Large Thermos During 26th Arrest of Repeat Offender

Florida Man Caught with a Thermos Inside His Body During Arrest

A man in Florida was taken into custody after authorities discovered he had inserted a large object into his body to avoid detection. Walter Frymire, 51, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and trespassing after he was found wandering near a public park.

Initially, Frymire was released as there was no evidence of contraband on him. However, he soon trespassed on nearby train tracks, prompting police to pursue him. During a routine frisk, officers found a glass pipe with residue consistent with methamphetamine, with Frymire admitting to being a meth user for nearly three decades.

Frymire was charged with trespassing and drug possession and taken to jail. A body scan during processing revealed an unusual foreign object lodged inside his body, stretching from his hip up to his rib cage. An X-ray confirmed the object was a thermos, which Frymire insisted he had not swallowed.

The sheriff overseeing the case said Frymire claimed he only placed the thermos inside himself, not that he swallowed it. The object was surgically removed by medical specialists, and Frymire was taken into custody. Sheriff Grady Judd joked about the bizarre incident, holding up a thermos to compare it with the one found inside Frymire, saying, “He put it up the exit ramp.”

Judd emphasized that Frymire threatened to kill the deputy who arrested him, but the officer’s quick action likely saved his life. It remains unclear whether the thermos contained any additional contraband.

Judd, known for his humorous and dramatic briefings, remarked, “You won’t believe this—never seen anything like it before. Never underestimate what people will do.”
