Florida Man Blames Haircut Appointment After Getting Clocked Over 100 MPH

Man Arrested for Speeding Over 100 MPH in Florida

A man in Florida was pulled over after being recorded going more than 100 miles per hour on a highway. When questioned by an officer, he explained he was in a hurry to get to his barber, stating, “I have an appointment with my barber.”

Michael Stanek, 57, from Welaka, was traveling to New Smyrna Beach on September 23 when he was stopped in Palm Coast. The police bodycam footage shows the officer asking why he was speeding, and Stanek replying that he was running late.

The officer warned Stanek that his reckless driving, which involved weaving through traffic and risking others’ safety, could land him in jail. As a result, he was detained for dangerous speeding and later released on a $150 bond.

Stanek had dubbed his vehicle a “super speeder” and was clocked going 107 mph. The police towed his car from the scene. The incident highlights a humorous yet cautionary tale about obeying traffic laws, as the police commented, “So go the speed limit… even if you’re late for a haircut.”
