Fatal Shooting at Michigan Church Leaves Multiple Victims and Fire Damage

A tragic incident occurred during Sunday services at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, resulting in the deaths of at least four individuals and injuries to eight others, including children. The attacker, identified as 40-year-old Iraq War veteran Thomas Sanford, drove his truck into the church, opened fire with an assault rifle, and subsequently set the building ablaze with people still inside.

Rescue crews responded swiftly to the scene. Images show emergency personnel battling the fire and attending to victims. Authorities fear there may be additional casualties, as some individuals are still missing amid the charred remains of the church.

Two victims succumbed to gunshot wounds during the attack, while the remaining two were found dead inside the church after the fire was extinguished. Authorities reported that Sanford, described as a gunman, was involved in a gunfight with responding officers and was killed in the exchange.
