Mariah Carey Avoids Question on Co-Parenting with Nick Cannon

Mariah Carey Avoids Discussing Co-Parenting with Ex-Husband Nick Cannon

During a recent interview, Mariah Carey chose not to comment on her co-parenting relationship with Nick Cannon regarding their 14-year-old twins, Monroe “Roe” and Moroccan “Roc.” When asked about managing a public co-parenting dynamic, she simply responded, “Hmmm. I kinda feel like it’s best if I don’t talk about him because he can just be in his own world,” adding, “No offense to him.”

The comment quickly went viral, prompting social media reactions. Some users joked about her reluctance, with one quipping, “We all embarrassed by our baby daddy chile 😂,” and another suggesting she wants to distance herself from her ex’s public life. Others speculated that she might be protecting her brand from the complications of his multiple relationships.

Recall that Carey and Cannon finalized their divorce in 2016, after which Cannon has fathered ten more children with five women. Cannon admitted that his actions post-divorce were a “trauma response,” describing them as “careless” and “frivolous.” He reflected on this during an interview last week, sharing, “If I would have did the work, the healing, after getting divorced, I probably would have taken my time in a lot of other scenarios.” He explained that avoiding addressing the root causes of his trauma led to ongoing issues, which he’s now working to resolve.
