Bl:a:ck Serial Killer Wore Creepy White-Face Mask During Burglary Spree, Say Cops

Suspected Serial Killer Linked to Multiple Robberies and Murders on Dating Apps

An alleged serial attacker who used dating apps to lure victims before robbing and murdering them had a significant criminal record in California. Authorities revealed that he once wore a white mask to conceal his identity, pretending to be a young white man to avoid detection.

Prosecutors have charged 34-year-old Rockim Prowell with the 2021 and 2023 murders of two men he met online. He is also accused of assaulting a third man earlier this year, during which he tied him up, beat him with a baseball bat, and stole his wallet. Prowell, from Inglewood, was previously on probation for two burglaries between 2019 and 2021 but is suspected of being involved in up to 30 break-ins across Los Angeles.

Security footage confirmed that Prowell used a creepy rubber mask to disguise himself during his crimes. The mask was later recovered by police after they pulled him over in a vehicle linked to the cases.

It remains uncertain if Prowell donned the mask during the murders of 51-year-old Miguel Angel King and 53-year-old Robert Gutierrez, whose bodies were found after the attacks in 2021 and 2023, respectively. King was discovered with a gunshot wound in Angeles National Forest, while Gutierrez’s body was never recovered, though his car was found in Prowell’s garage.

In February, Prowell allegedly tied up and tortured another man, Jordan Andrews, beating him viciously. Andrews managed to escape but was rammed by Prowell’s car as he fled, suffering a broken leg.

Prowell now faces murder charges, attempted murder, carjacking, burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently held on a $2 million bail.
