Jessica Simpson Returns to the VMAs in Style

Jessica Simpson made a fashionable comeback at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, gracing the red carpet in New York’s UBS Arena wearing a daring black Christian Siriano gown with cut-outs and a corset design.

The gown, part of the Resort 2025 collection, is a striking tulle piece valued at $7,900.

She complemented her look with sparkling drop earrings and styled her signature blonde hair in a tousled ponytail. This was her first VMAs appearance in 19 years, since 2006, and she is not competing for any awards but is serving as a presenter. She teased her return on Instagram, saying, “Back to where it all began!”

Her appearance follows her return to the stage this May, where she performed four songs from her new album, “Nashville Canyon,” on “American Idol” — her first live performance in 15 years.

During the summer, Simpson showcased her style in various outfits, including a form-fitting leather bodysuit for album promotion and a shimmering see-through dress for her birthday celebration at Chateau Marmont.

This year’s VMAs are special for Simpson, as her sister Ashlee also returned to the awards show after a 17-year absence, wearing a sequined gown. The event features celebrity presenters including Brittany Snow, Ciara, Drew Barrymore, Ice Spice, Latto, and others, making it a star-studded affair.
