Details Surrounding the Death of Lisa Marie Presley Revealed
New, sensitive information regarding Lisa Marie Presley’s passing has come to light through a legal complaint filed in Los Angeles by Priscilla Presley’s former business associates. Included in the case are pages from an upcoming memoir, “Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis,” which describe her final moments.
According to these pages, Priscilla Presley recounts rushing to her daughter’s side at a hospital after Lisa Marie suffered complications from a small bowel obstruction related to previous bariatric surgery. While awaiting her granddaughter Riley Keough’s arrival, a “code blue” was called as Lisa Marie’s heart stopped.
Priscilla describes the scene where medical staff attempted to revive Lisa Marie, mentioning that they had restarted her heart, but there was little hope it would continue beating. She recalls asking the doctor what kind of life her daughter would have if kept on life support, to which he responded that there would be “no quality of life at all.”
She further writes that Lisa Marie had “little brain activity” and she, who had always seen her as vital and passionate, felt her daughter was no longer present. In a moment of despair, she reportedly told the doctor to remove the life support machine, then fainted.
Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’s only child and a mother of four, died at age 54 on January 12, 2023, after a cardiac arrest. She was preceded in death by her son Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020 at age 27.
