Demi Moore Opens Up on Bruce Willis’ Challenging Personality Shift Amid Dementia

Demi Moore Shares Insights on Bruce Willis’s Dementia Battle

In a recent appearance on the “Oprah Winfrey” podcast, Demi Moore offered a rare perspective on her ex-husband Bruce Willis’s ongoing struggle with dementia. She described how difficult it’s been to witness the transformation of a once vibrant and focused man into a different version of himself.

Moore emphasized the importance of meeting Willis where he is emotionally and mentally, without expecting him to revert to how he was before the illness. “There’s an incredible softness and love in accepting him as he is now,” she shared. Moore noted that her approach involves being present and embracing the moment, rather than dwelling on what has been lost or projecting anxiety about his condition.

Moore’s comments follow a recent statement from Emma Heming, Willis’s current wife, who revealed that they have chosen to live separately to address his needs. Despite the separation, Willis still shares meals with his family and resides with full-time caregivers.

Willis publicly announced his diagnosis of aphasia and subsequent retirement from acting in 2022. His condition has since been identified as frontotemporal dementia, impacting speech and cognitive functions. Moore expressed admiration for his resilience, highlighting his mobility and overall good health despite the brain decline.

Heming also discussed her role as Willis’s caregiver in her upcoming memoir, which addresses finding strength and hope amid the challenges of dementia. She reassures that Willis remains “very mobile” and that her priority has been ensuring his well-being in this new chapter of their lives.
