Aussie Soccer Hero Accused of Affair During Wife’s Pregnancy—Husband Breaks Silence
Former A-League Player Jack Hingert Accused of Affair
Jack Hingert, a respected former A-League footballer, has been publicly accused of engaging in an 18-month affair with a married woman, including during the time his wife was pregnant with their second child. The 34-year-old Brisbane Roar legend, known for his extensive career and international representation for Sri Lanka, faces these serious allegations amidst personal turmoil.
Hingert, who made over 300 appearances for Brisbane Roar and secured two league championships, is pictured with his wife Symmie, who recently gave birth to their second child. The allegations come to light following a discovery by a man named Pete, whose wife, the woman involved, allegedly met Hingert through her work and was involved in the affair.
Pete explained how he uncovered the affair on July 12 after finding suspicious messages. Upon confronting Hingert by phone, Pete learned that the footballer had been married since 2021. An inspection of Hingert’s social media revealed his marital status, prompting Pete to visit Hingert’s home to confront him directly. During the encounter, Pete accused Hingert of ongoing contact with his wife, which stunned her when he informed her of the affair.
In emotional interviews, Pete described the devastation caused by the betrayal. “It’s a level of deceit I couldn’t imagine,” he said. “I apologized to my wife for turning her world upside down, and she thanked me for exposing the truth.”
Both Hingert and his wife have since deleted their social media profiles, and no official statements have been issued. Brisbane Roar’s CEO praised Hingert’s leadership and his contribution to the club, highlighting his importance both on and off the field. Hingert’s international debut for Sri Lanka last year marked a significant milestone in his career, motivated by his heritage through his father, Michael Hingert.
Hingert, who previously played for North Queensland Fury, spoke about his pride in representing Sri Lanka, describing it as an “underdog story” and the opportunity to help his homeland gain recognition in international football.
