George Clooney Withdraws from Venice Film Festival Appearances Due to Illness
George Clooney has canceled his upcoming engagements at the Venice Film Festival after being diagnosed with a sinus infection. His representative stated that he is currently following doctor’s orders to rest and restrict activity.
The actor, aged 64, had previously skipped a press event for his latest film, Jay Kelly, and missed a dinner with co-stars Adam Sandler and Laura Dern. He was later seen leaving his hotel to return home and recover.
During a press conference, the film’s moderator announced Clooney’s absence, expressing hope he could attend the red carpet later in the event. Director Noah Baumbach joked about the situation, saying, “Even movie stars get sick.”
Prior to his illness, Clooney and his wife, Amal, arrived in Venice. The couple was pictured waving to fans as they exited their boat, heading to their hotel. Amal looked stunning in a yellow midi halterneck dress, paired with white heels and a matching handbag. Clooney appeared sharp in a black polo and cream trousers.
