Kate Gosselin Criticizes Her Ex-Husband for Impacting Their Children

Kate Gosselin recently shared her perspective on her divorce from Jon Gosselin, blaming him for some of the difficulties her children have faced since their separation. During a live TikTok session, the former reality TV star expressed her desire for the divorce to be as amicable as possible, but admitted that uncontrollable circumstances led to negative outcomes for her kids.

Despite aiming for a peaceful split in 2009 and raising her eight children—twins Madelyn and Cara, and sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Collin, Leah, Hannah, and Alexis—Kate acknowledged that things did not turn out well for her family. She criticized Jon, now 48, suggesting that a more cooperative attitude could have made things calmer and more amicable.

Kate emphasized that she made choices based on her desire to treat others well, rejecting drama, hostility, and ugliness. She also revealed that legal battles drained her financial resources, making her return to nursing necessary, partly due to hefty legal fees. She stated, “I did not hire an attorney who wanted to stir up trouble,” emphasizing her wish for a peaceful resolution to protect her children.

Kate’s relationship with some of her children remains strained. She has been estranged from Collin and Hannah, who now live with Jon. Collin has publicly accused her of abuse, which she and Madelyn have vehemently denied. Recently, Kate has shared glimpses of her other children via TikTok, and Collin has extended an olive branch to his siblings, expressing a desire to reconnect.

Kate highlighted that she and Jon moved in with him after their split, rather than raising their children together. She shared her feelings about the ongoing family rifts, describing the situation as “born to be a team, us against the world,” but feeling they are “forced apart, pitted against each other.” Collin, meanwhile, has spoken about his heartbreak over not knowing his siblings well and wishes to be in contact with them.
