Aubameyang and PSG Star Spark Controversy Over Streamer’s Fatal ‘Stay Awake’ Challenge
Online Streamer Raphael Graven Dies Following Alleged Online Hazing
Raphael Graven, known as Jean Pormanove, a prominent figure in France’s streaming community, was found dead at his home in Contes, near Nice. The 46-year-old was active on the Kick platform, where he amassed over a million followers. His death follows allegations that he was subjected to brutal online challenges involving humiliation, violence, and dangerous stunts during live broadcasts.
Videos circulated showing Graven being slapped, strangled, force-fed, doused in toxic liquids, and shot with a paintball by influencers Owen Cenazandotti and Safine Hamadi. It is claimed he endured these extreme acts over ten days, which included sleep deprivation and ingestion of harmful substances. Supporters reportedly donated over £31,000 during these streams, while some encouraging viewers to mistreat Graven.
Authorities confirmed that Graven died without traumatic injuries, suggesting possible medical or toxicological causes. His family described him as a kind-hearted individual who found a second family in Nice. In a final message sent shortly before his death, Graven expressed feelings of being ‘held hostage’ and frustration over the abusive streams.
Several individuals involved have been questioned. While influencers Owen Cenazandotti and Safine Hamadi were present during the streams, representatives clarified that Bradley Barcola and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appeared in earlier recordings but were not involved in the live abuse. Barcola’s representatives asserted he was not present during the incident and expressed condolences.
French officials condemned the events, with Junior Minister Clara Chappaz calling the death ‘an absolute horror.’ Investigations continue, with forensic experts finding no signs of trauma but considering toxins or medical issues as likely causes. Graven’s family and supporters decried the tragic outcome of relentless online abuse.
An autopsy has shed light on the cause of Raphael Graven’s death, revealing no traumatic injuries but suggesting medical or toxicological factors.
Both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bradley Barcola appeared in prior recordings broadcast during the live stream. Their involvement has been publicly disputed, with statements emphasizing they were not present at the time of Graven’s death.
Notably, rapper Drake announced plans to cover the funeral costs, joining streamer Adin Ross. The incident has spotlighted the dangers of harmful online content, prompting platforms to reevaluate their policies to better protect vulnerable creators from abuse.
