Liverpool Star Plans to Rip Up Contract After Season in Reserves
Former Liverpool Star Set to Terminate AC Milan Contract After Season in Reserves
Divock Origi, once a fan favorite at Liverpool, is preparing to leave his current club, AC Milan, after failing to break into the first team this season. The 30-year-old striker has already been sidelined since 2023, refusing to play for Milan’s youth squad and training alone away from the club’s facilities.
Origi’s time at Milan has been disappointing; despite an initial promising start with two goals in his first season, he has not featured for the Italian giants in the past two years. Following a loan spell at Nottingham Forest where he scored once, he learned last July that he was no longer part of Milan’s plans.
Reportedly, Milan and Origi will soon agree to end his contract early, with the club set to pay him half of his remaining annual salary as severance. The striker’s absence from club activities, including refusing to join the youth team, underscores the strained relationship.
Once hailed as a hero at Liverpool, Origi contributed significantly to their successes, including winning the Champions League and Premier League titles. His trademark moments include scoring crucial goals in high-stakes matches, earning him a special place among Reds supporters.
However, his tenure at Milan did not reach the same heights. Despite high hopes, his goal tally was modest, and he was deemed surplus to requirements after his first season. Though he aims to revive his career elsewhere, his future destination remains uncertain.
Once a highly-paid player at Milan, he is now focused on finding a new club where he can reignite his career and demonstrate his proven ability to produce remarkable moments on the pitch.
