Champions League Club Plans Shock Move for Man United Star Andre Onana – Chelsea Goalkeeper Also in The Race!
Champions League Club Targets Manchester United’s Andre Onana — Chelsea’s Goalkeeper Also Under Consideration
The goalkeeper for Manchester United, Andre Onana, is reportedly attracting interest from a top-tier Champions League club. The Ligue 1 team is in search of a new goalkeeper this summer, as neither their current first nor second-choice keepers impressed last season.
Onana endured a challenging campaign, marked by notable errors, as United finished in 15th place in the league. Since joining from Inter Milan in July 2023, the Cameroonian has appeared in 72 Premier League matches for United, securing 18 clean sheets. Despite his performances, significant squad changes are anticipated at United under manager Ruben Amorim, who is aiming to rebuild after a disappointing season.
Interest from other clubs appears to be rising, with speculations of approaches from Saudi Arabia and now Monaco, according to L’Equipe. The French club is reportedly considering a move for the goalkeeper amidst the transfer window.

Another goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic of Chelsea, who recently returned from a loan at Strasbourg, has also been linked with a transfer. Chelsea’s CEO, Thiago Scuro, confirmed that acquiring a new goalkeeper is a priority this summer, following unconvincing performances from Radoslaw Majecki and Philipp Kohn last season.

Currently on holiday, Onana was approached in an interview about his future at Manchester United. With a smile, he responded in French: “Will I leave? I don’t know, we shall see.”
