Tendai Ndoro Dies at 40: Former International Footballer Passes Away at His South Africa Home
Former Zimbabwe international footballer Tendai Ndoro has tragically passed away at the age of 40. He was discovered dead at his residence in Johannesburg on Monday.
Ndoro, known for his goal-scoring prowess, previously played for several clubs, including the Orlando Pirates and various teams across Africa and the Middle East. His impressive performance in domestic leagues earned him international recognition and a spot in the Zimbabwe national team, where he scored five goals in 14 appearances between 2013 and 2017.
His career began at Nico United in Botswana, followed by a successful stint at Zimbabwe’s Chicken Inn FC from 2011 to 2013. His goal-scoring talent led to a move to South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in 2015, and later to teams such as Al-Faisaly, Ajax Cape Town, Highlands Park, and Al-Orouba.
Nicknamed “Fire” by fans and teammates for his striking ability, Ndoro narrowly missed securing the Golden Boot during the 2016-17 South African season. His prolific scoring earned him a place in Zimbabwe’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations squad, although his team finished at the bottom of their group.
The cause of his death has not been officially confirmed, but reports suggest he may have experienced health issues prior to his passing.
Ndoro was well known for his scoring ability during his career.
