California Inmate Anita Doron Surges with Donations After Victory in Graciela Bustamante Case

Inmate Gains Public Support After Assaulting Stepmother Accused of Child Abuse

An inmate at a California facility has garnered public admiration after reportedly attacking Graciela Bustamante, a woman accused of torturing and killing her 8-year-old stepdaughter, Genesis Mata.

Following the incident on August 8, donations flooded Anita Doron’s commissary account, with many viewers expressing support, believing Bustamante deserved the confrontation. Doron openly stated she would repeat the act if given the chance.

Images show Bustamante during her court appearance related to Genesis’s death, where she was found dead in a motel bathroom on August 2, with injuries indicating severe abuse such as burns, beatings, and whipping.

Witnesses reported that Bustamante appeared unremorseful, returning from court laughter and giggles, which disturbed fellow inmates. Doron described her own emotional struggle, highlighting the horrors faced by vulnerable children in the foster and child protective services systems.

Genesis suffered burns from hot water, beatings, and whipping before her death, stirring outrage over systemic failures to protect such children. Doron, who has a cousin named Genesis, emphasized the urgency of reforming foster and CPS practices to prevent further tragedies.

Supporters praised Doron for her act of violence, though she remains charged with evading law enforcement and vehicle theft, for which she pleaded no contest. She is currently held on a $70,000 bond.

Both Bustamante and her husband, Ray Mata Jr., face charges related to Genesis’s tragic death, highlighting ongoing concerns about child safety and justice.
