Teen Fatally Stabbed in Queens Encounter

A 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed Thursday night in Queens, after being found unconscious on a roof following the attack. Responding officers arrived around 6:15 p.m. to a report of a fight outside a residence between 35th and 37th Avenue and 93rd Street.

The victim, Jayson Fernandez, sustained multiple stab wounds to his abdomen during a confrontation with a male assailant wearing a hood. After being struck, Fernandez climbed onto the roof of a garage on the property, where he collapsed during the attack.

First responders transported Fernandez to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The area where the stabbing occurred is known for drug activity, and sources indicate Fernandez was affiliated with the Trinitarios, a gang founded by Dominican Americans in New York City. As of now, no arrests have been made, and police are continuing their investigation.
