Amir Coffey Signs Training Camp Deal with Milwaukee Bucks
Amir Coffey Joins Milwaukee Bucks on Training Camp Deal
Amir Coffey, coming off a strong season with the Clippers where he averaged 9.7 points per game and shot 40.9% from three-point range, has signed a training camp contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite his impressive performance on a 50-win team, he did not receive a standard NBA contract.
The Bucks, who already have their full roster of 15 players under contract, will consider Coffey primarily for training camp. Since Coffey does not qualify for a two-way contract, his spot depends on the team’s decisions related to other players, such as Andre Jackson Jr., whose contract isn’t fully guaranteed. The Bucks could potentially trigger Jackson’s release by covering an $800,000 buyout and make room for Coffey.
This signing adds valuable depth for Milwaukee, especially at the wing position, where Coffey fits well. Interestingly, Coffey is reuniting with coach Doc Rivers, his first mentor during his time with the Clippers. If retained beyond camp, he would provide reliable regular-season depth to a roster eager for versatile perimeter players.
