Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Deal: What You Need to Know
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Renew Netflix Partnership with New, Less Lucrative Deal
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have extended their collaboration with Netflix through a new first-look deal, announced ahead of their current contract’s September expiration. Unlike their previous reported $100 million agreement, industry insiders say this new contract is significantly smaller, offering minimal financial risk for Netflix while maintaining their association.
The couple’s representatives did not respond immediately to requests for comment. Under the new arrangement, Harry and Meghan will submit their ideas to Netflix, which will decide whether to acquire project rights. This allows the streaming giant to continue shaping content involving the pair.
Looking ahead, viewers can expect Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, to expand onto the screen. Season 2 of her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” is scheduled to premiere late August. Additionally, a short documentary titled “Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within”, produced by the couple, will highlight inspiring children in Uganda transforming hardship into hope through dance.
Another upcoming project includes an adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel “Meet Me at the Lake”. Meghan also plans to release a special holiday episode of “With Love, Meghan” this December, featuring festive celebrations.
Highlighting their humanitarian efforts, the couple will unveil “Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within,” a documentary illustrating how Ugandan orphans find joy and healing through dance, showcasing their impact beyond the screen. Previously, industry sources suggested that Netflix’s CEO, Ted Sarandos, is a regular dinner companion of the royals, emphasizing the strong ongoing relationship.
Last year, Netflix revealed that their initial deal was closer to $20 million rather than the $100 million figure initially reported, with Harry and Meghan’s documentary “Harry & Meghan” drawing over 23 million views in its first days. Their body of work also includes “Live to Lead,” “Heart of Invictus,” and “Polo.”
