Kelly Clarkson Heartbroken Over Brandon Blackstock’s Passing
Kelly Clarkson Mourns Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Following His Passing
Kelly Clarkson is deeply saddened by the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who recently passed away after a prolonged battle with melanoma. She was reportedly “devastated” for her children, remaining protective and supportive during his final days.
Blackstock, who was also Clarkson’s former manager and Reba McEntire’s stepson, died at age 48. Despite their contentious divorce finalized in 2022, Clarkson helped care for him in his final moments, even cancelling her Las Vegas residency to be with him, reflecting her dedication to their family.
A family spokesperson confirmed, “Brandon bravely fought cancer for over three years. He passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. We appreciate your thoughts and ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
Clarkson and Blackstock married in 2013, welcoming daughter River Rose and son Remington. Clarkson gained primary custody of their children amid their tumultuous split, but she has maintained a respectful relationship with her ex-husband for the sake of their kids. Despite personal differences, Clarkson emphasized her enduring care for Blackstock, stating, “My kids ask if I still love him, and I think some feelings go beyond that.”
