Florian Wirtz Set for Record-Breaking Transfer to Liverpool

Florian Wirtz was spotted arriving at Cologne Bonn Airport moments before his highly anticipated move to Liverpool. The German midfielder is expected to complete a £116 million transfer, making it the most expensive British transfer in history. The deal would surpass the previous record held by Moises Caicedo of Chelsea.

Wirtz’s arrival in England is imminent, with a medical scheduled to take place in Manchester on Thursday afternoon. The official confirmation is anticipated soon after. His parents, Hans and Karin, played a key role in negotiating his five-year contract, and are projected to receive a lucrative bonus of around £8.6 million for their efforts.

Wirtz, 22, will soon reunite with former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong, who recently joined Liverpool for £29.5 million. The two shared a sunny boat trip off Montenegro earlier this week and are expected to team up on the pitch soon, having enjoyed success together in Germany, including winning a domestic double and the German Super Cup.

Wirtz’s parents, who negotiated the deal aboard with Leverkusen initially resisting Liverpool’s bids of £100m and £110m, will benefit significantly from their role, receiving a substantial commission. Their successful negotiations helped secure his transfer to the Premier League club.

As Liverpool continues to strengthen, they are also close to finalizing a deal for Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, who is reportedly heading to the Reds despite ongoing negotiations. Kerkez’s agent has indicated the transfer is nearly complete, with only minor details remaining before the move is finalised.
