House Panel Votes to Subpoena Bill & Hillary Clinton Over Ghislaine Maxwell Links
House Oversight Subcommittee Moves to Subpoena Clintons and Key Officials Over Jeffrey Epstein Ties
A subcommittee of the House Oversight Committee has voted to issue subpoenas to Bill and Hillary Clinton regarding their alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. The motion was introduced and approved by the predominantly Republican panel during a recent hearing.
The subpoenas aim to gather information from the Clintons as well as former top Justice Department officials, including ex-FBI Director James Comey and ex-Attorneys General Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Bill Barr, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales. The goal is to expand the investigation into Maxwell’s activities and possible links to high-profile figures.
While subpoenas will be formally issued in the future, the committee indicated that they might compel the Clintons and others to testify or produce documents. The oversight effort also includes a directive to subpoena the Justice Department for all communications related to Epstein between Biden administration officials, including President Joe Biden, and the DOJ.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer stated that subpoenas are forthcoming. Maxwell, who was convicted in 2022 on sex-trafficking conspiracy charges and sentenced to 20 years, has agreed to a deposition scheduled for August 11 at a federal prison in Tallahassee, where she is currently incarcerated.
