Hulk Hogan Supports Trump at RNC 2024 After Disputing Democrats
Hulk Hogan’s Endorsement Highlights Political Shift
Pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan delivered a memorable speech at the 2024 RNC, tearing off his shirt to rally support for Donald Trump with the phrase, “let Trumpmania run wild, brother!”
Initially a supporter of Democratic figures, Hogan’s political stance shifted after feeling slighted by former President Barack Obama. During his convention appearance in Milwaukee, he revealed a “Trump/Vance” tank underneath his shirt, openly endorsing Trump and declaring him the toughest among tough guys he’s known.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, had supported Barack Obama in the past but grew disillusioned, especially after Obama used Hogan’s theme song, “Real American,” at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner without permission. Hogan voiced his frustration publicly, marking a turning point in his political stance.
In 2012, Hogan supported Mitt Romney, praising his ticket for promising a fresh start for America. His expressions of support extend into his recent endorsement, with Hogan emphasizing his belief that Trump represents strength and resilience.
Hogan, known for his career in wrestling and entertainment, once expressed regret about not seeking approval for using his music as a theme and criticized Obama’s policies, particularly “you didn’t build that,” remarks he found contrary to his patriotic values.
He acknowledged that political involvement is new territory for him but feels motivated by recent events and the country’s direction. Hogan’s dramatic shift underscores the changing landscape of celebrity political endorsements and reflects broader sentiment among supporters seeking change.
