Todd Chrisley Unimpressed by Julie’s Post-Prison Look
Revelations About Post-Prison Appearances from Todd and Julie Chrisley
Following their release from federal prison earlier this year after being pardoned, Todd and Julie Chrisley openly discussed their reentry into public life and their changing appearances.
In a candid conversation, Todd admitted that upon seeing Julie after her release, he was initially distressed by her changed look. “When I first saw her getting out of the car, I almost considered going back,” he revealed during their podcast, adding, “But then I decided to embrace the moment.” His comments surprised Julie, who responded, “Are you serious right now?” to which Todd acknowledged, “It was a tough moment because I had never seen her dark before.”
Julie explained that her darker hair was a result of her prison time, where she played with hair dye and relied on box coloring after a fellow inmate, who previously worked in a salon, helped her highlights. She acknowledged she looked “crazy” during that period but now feels proud of her natural look, saying, “People now tell me I look great, and I think, yeah, but that’s because I looked wild before.”
Todd, in a teasing tone, commented, “You set the bar low, so there was only room to improve,” which Julie found unkind. She pointed out that she wasn’t able to do her hair properly while incarcerated, but she currently enjoys her natural appearance, even noting that her recent darker hair has gained positive reactions from others.
The couple, married since 1996, addressed ongoing rumors of divorce, with Julie affirming her commitment, “We’re 30 years in, and we plan to stay together for many more. I don’t care what anyone says.” Todd admitted that such gossip touches a nerve because he considers marriage sacred, yet they remain united and optimistic about their future.
