Todd Chrisley Disappointed by Julie’s Post-Prison Look

Couple Opens Up About Post-Prison Changes and Marriage Durability

After serving time, Todd Chrisley revealed he was initially less attracted to his wife Julie’s appearance following her release from prison. During their podcast, he admitted, “When I first saw you after getting out, I thought about returning to jail.” However, he then chose to appreciate the moment and embraced her new look.

Julie, visibly surprised, questioned her husband’s honesty, prompting him to admit, “It was a tough moment because I’d never seen you with dark hair and gray roots before.” She explained that her hair color changed because she was behind bars, experimenting with dye and relying on box coloring until she decided to go natural.

Julie shared that while she appeared in a less-than-flattering photo during her incarceration, she now receives compliments on her appearance. “People think I look great now,” she said, “but that’s after the crazy photos.” Todd added, “You set the bar low, so there’s only one way—up.”

The couple, married since 1996, was released from federal prison in May after being pardoned by President Trump, having served just over two years for charges related to fraud and tax evasion.

Julie clarified that her darker hair was due to her prison dye experiment with help from a fellow inmate. She reflected humorously, “I looked crazy, but now I think I look even better—probably because of those photos.” Despite Todd’s blunt comments, Julie dismissed divorce rumors, emphasizing their commitment: “We’re 30 years in now, and we plan to stay together for many more.”
