NYC Teacher Arrested for Sexual Encounter with 13-Year-Old Student

Bronx Teacher Indicted for Repeated Sexual Assault of Student

A teacher at a Bronx middle school is facing serious charges after allegedly abusing a 13-year-old student inside her home. The misconduct was interrupted when the victim’s older sister caught them getting dressed, bringing the incidents to light.

William Jones, a 32-year-old math teacher at American Dream Charter School from Queens, was indicted after the alleged assaults took place between late April and early June. The Bronx District Attorney’s office stated that Jones sexually abused the girl multiple times while her family was away from home.

The assaults reportedly occurred inside the girl’s residence, with the sister intervening during the last incident when she noticed them putting their clothes back on. Following this, the girl’s mother discovered explicit messages, photos, and videos on her daughter’s phone, which confirmed Jones’s involvement. The mother contacted the police upon verifying the contact number linked to the content belonged to the teacher.

In response to the allegations, District Attorney Darcel Clark condemned Jones’s conduct, emphasizing that teachers hold a responsibility to protect students and that exploitation of minors will not be tolerated.

Jones, who has since left his teaching position, faces multiple charges, including eight counts of rape, four counts of sexual misconduct, and five counts of distributing indecent material to minors. He is currently out on bail and scheduled to appear in court on October 14.

The school and Jones’s legal representatives have not issued any statements regarding the case.
