Scooter Braun Slams Kanye West Over Antisemitic Remarks
Scooter Braun Criticizes Kanye West Over Antisemitic Remarks
Scooter Braun has publicly expressed strong disapproval of his former client Kanye West following the rapper’s recent antisemitic comments. During an interview, Braun stated, “I don’t know him anymore,” reflecting on how the person he once knew no longer aligns with West’s current views. He added, “It’s painful to mourn someone while they are still here,” emphasizing the emotional difficulty of witnessing such a change in someone he once cared about.
Braun noted, “The person I knew wasn’t someone who would say those things,” and shared that he doesn’t have a relationship with West at present. When asked if West could be reached, Braun replied, “I don’t know.” He emphasized that his focus remains on raising his three children, Jagger, Levi, and Hart, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Yael Cohen, and who need his attention and stability.
Despite his criticism of West’s behavior, Braun clarified that he holds no ill will toward the rapper and aims to focus on positivity and pride in his heritage. “I’d rather stand proudly with who I am and be kind to everyone than participate in that kind of hate,” he stated. Braun also mentioned he has no desire to become the negative figure that antisemitic rhetoric can create, choosing instead to celebrate his roots and legacy.
In a separate note, Braun reflected on their previous professional relationship, which lasted from 2016 to 2018. Notably, West’s antisemitic tirade began in 2022, after their collaboration had ended, leading to West being dropped from multiple brand deals, including Adidas and Balenciaga.
West has issued multiple apologies over his remarks, but he continues to spread hate speech online. Since his latest apology in May, where he stated, “I am done with antisemitism,” and expressed love for all people, West has remained silent on the issue.
