Chris Martin Playfully Warns Crowd Before Kiss Cam Amid Astronomer CEO Scandal
Chris Martin Lightheartedly Warns Crowd During Coldplay Concert After Kiss Cam Incident
During a recent concert, Chris Martin humorously addressed the audience following a memorable moment on the kiss cam segment. Just days earlier, during a show at Gillette Stadium, Martin inadvertently highlighted a couple, which turned out to be a high-ranking executive and his colleague, sparking widespread attention.
At the Madison, Wis. performance, Martin teased the crowd, saying, “We want to say hello to some of you on the big screen,” and joked, “How we’re going to do that is with our cameras.” He then added playfully, “If you haven’t done your makeup, do it now,” eliciting laughter from fans.
Earlier in the week, during a show in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Martin had captured what he believed was a romantic couple on the kiss cam. Once their affection was displayed on the large screen, they immediately reacted—one person crouched down, and the other covered her face and ran off.
Martin commented on their response: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” which kept the crowd amused. The pair was later identified as Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, an executive at the company, who had been seen cuddling during the concert. The encounter quickly went viral, prompting Byron’s wife to change her Facebook surname and delete her profile.
It was later revealed that Byron, who is married, was appointed CEO of Astronomer in July 2023, with Cabot joining the company in November 2024. Byron had previously spoken highly of Cabot’s leadership skills, describing her as a talented and passionate leader in press releases.
Following the viral incident, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, removed her social media presence amid the scandal. Meanwhile, Cabot also publicly discussed her role at Astronomer, emphasizing the importance of aligning people strategies with business goals.
This scandal adds to Byron’s previous controversies, including allegations of employee mistreatment at former workplaces. After an internal investigation into the kiss cam incident, Byron resigned from his role in a move seen as a response to the media attention.
