Illegal Immigrant ‘Monster’ Decapitates Missing Woman After Judge’s Release, ICE Arrests Him
Illegal Immigrant Arrested in Connection with Woman’s Decapitation in Illinois
A man accused of murdering and dismembering a woman has been taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), nearly three months after he was initially released by a court. The suspect, Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, 52, a Mexican national, was detained at a Chicago market after being charged with hiding and mishandling the victim’s body.
The case first came to light when Mendoza-Gonzalez was arrested in April following the discovery of Megan Bos’s headless remains in a storage bin in his yard. Authorities say Bos, 37, had been reported missing in March after vanishing in February. Mendoza-Gonzalez allegedly told police that Bos overdosed at his home, a statement he later denied, claiming he moved her body after hiding it in his basement for two days.
Details revealed that Bos’s corpse had been decomposing in Mendoza-Gonzalez’s yard for nearly two months before being found. Her body was stored in a bleach-filled container, officials said. Despite the severity of the charges, a judge unexpectedly released Mendoza-Gonzalez after his court appearance in April, citing Illinois’ controversial SAFE-T Act, which eliminated cash bail and allows judges discretion in pre-trial detention decisions.
This decision has sparked criticism from local officials. Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner expressed shock, stating that Mendoza-Gonzalez was detained for less than 48 hours before being released under the law. The suspect is now in ICE custody, as further investigations continue.
