Controversies Surrounding Jordan Lasker and His Online Activities

Jordan Lasker, known by the pseudonym Crémieux on social media platforms, gained media attention after providing the New York Times with hacked data revealing that Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic mayoral candidate in New York City, identified as both Asian and African American on his college application. While Lasker celebrated his role in exposing this, critics criticized the Times for relying on sources they labeled as “eugenicists.”

However, deeper investigations into Lasker’s past present troubling revelations. An anonymous Reddit account, Faliceer—believed to be operated by Lasker—posted highly explicit racist, antisemitic, and pro-Nazi content between 2014 and 2016, including celebrating Hitler’s birthday and endorsing eugenics. A childhood friend confirmed Lasker’s involvement, noting that Faliceer’s posts mirror details from Lasker’s own life, such as shared interests and affiliations.

Further, Lasker’s online personas, including “Jordan” and “Zlatan Lasker,” have appeared on various platforms like Chess.com, supporting overtly racist and antisemitic sentiments. His childhood friend described Lasker as a “pathological liar,” pointing out false claims about academic achievements and connections to prominent Jewish organizations, which he attempted to emphasize during college years. Despite these claims, reports suggest Lasker’s parents are of Christian background, and he was raised as a Christian before reportedly adopting a Jewish identity in college, though some sources dispute formal conversion.

Today, Lasker has amassed a large following as Crémieux on Substack and X, where he discusses topics like weight loss drugs, data analysis, and political commentary, often with provocative statements about race and intelligence. His accounts have attracted followers across the political spectrum, including influential right-wing figures, though his ties to the current administration remain unclear.

Recent coverage underscores the contrast between his online persona and past claims, raising questions about his credibility and the potential influence of his provocative and racially charged rhetoric. Despite denying support for racist policies, Lasker’s history of posts and statements continues to cast a shadow over his reputation.
