Arizona Certification Confirms Election Victory for Adelita Grijalva

The election victory of Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva in Arizona has been officially certified by the state. The Arizona Attorney General’s office has completed its review, concluding the contest with no further complications.

Grijalva emphasized that the certification affirms the choice made by voters three weeks ago, stating, “We won this election decisively by over 40,000 votes.” She expressed gratitude towards Arizona officials, including Governor Katie Hobbs, Attorney General Kris Mayes, and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, for their roles in ensuring the election process upheld the voters’ will, particularly for the more than 800,000 Arizonans currently without congressional representation.

Arizona’s Attorney General has issued a formal demand for Grijalva to be promptly sworn into office. The letter states that delaying her seating in Congress would undermine the democratic process, noting that the House of Representatives is directly elected and has a constitutional obligation to reflect the will of the voters.

The legal move underscores the importance of respecting the electoral outcome and ensures that the constituents’ voices are represented without further delay.
