Major Airport Delays Due to Nor’easter

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued ground delays at multiple airports across the Northeast because of an intense nor’easter. Some locations are experiencing average delays nearing two hours.

At Boston Logan International Airport, passengers are facing delays of approximately 86 minutes due to low clouds, while travelers at Newark Liberty International Airport are experiencing delays of around 80 minutes as of early Sunday afternoon.

Other Notable Delays

LaGuardia Airport reports delays averaging about 106 minutes, while JFK Airport’s delays are roughly 102 minutes. In contrast, Philadelphia International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport are experiencing shorter delays—around 32 and 26 minutes, respectively.

Storm Conditions

This significant nor’easter, which gained momentum Sunday morning, is expected to cause substantial coastal flooding and strong winds with gusts reaching up to 60 mph from Charleston to New England.
