Leah Lewis, star of the upcoming series Matlock, has publicly spoken about her experience following allegations that her co-star, David Del Rio, sexually assaulted her. Lewis, who currently stars as Sarah Franklin, shared a positive message about resilience, posting a picture with her mother on social media, emphasizing her strength and support system.

In her statement, Lewis expressed, “Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word: strength. Please, let that be the takeaway.” Her message came after reports indicated that Del Rio was removed from the show on October 2, following a report of the incident that allegedly occurred on September 26. The network has confirmed that an internal investigation led to Del Rio’s departure.

Additional controversy ensued when Del Rio’s wife, Katherine Del Rio, posted and later deleted social media entries criticizing Lewis. She described Lewis as “the most disturbing human being [she] has ever met” and mocked her, sharing an identical message about moving forward in strength and posting a photo with her own mother. Katherine and Del Rio have been married since 2018 and are parents to two young children.

Despite the public dispute, representatives for both Leah Lewis and David Del Rio have not yet responded to comments. The cast of Matlock remains silent on the scandal, with production currently on hiatus until November. The second season is scheduled to premiere on October 12.
