Katie Porter Flashes Icy Gaze in Latest Gubernatorial Scandal

California Gubernatorial Candidate Caught on Camera Showing Temper During 2021 Zoom Interview

Video footage has emerged showing Katie Porter, a candidate for governor of California, displaying a sharp glare at a staff member over lighting issues during a 2021 virtual interview. The clip has gone viral, adding to her reputation for a fiery temper.

In the video, Porter quickly interrupts a Zoom interview to demand the staff turn off bright studio lights. After instructing an employee to shut off “the lights that are killing me,” she then turns to the camera, requests patience from viewers, and appears visibly frustrated as she yells at another staffer to “get out of my f–king shot.”

Newly uncovered footage shows Porter arguing with staff about studio lighting during a 2021 Zoom interview.

Porter’s outburst seemed to stem from alleged follow-up questions that she claimed were making the interview difficult. When CBS reporter Julie Watts pressed her about her campaign strategy, Porter responded with frustration, dismissing follow-up questions as unnecessary and claiming the interview was stalling.

“Ms. Porter, I am an investigative reporter,” Watts said when Porter appeared upset. “You’ve never had to have a conversation with a reporter?”

Another clip from 2021 shows Porter shouting at a staffer during a Biden administration environmental call, telling her to leave her shot. These incidents have fueled criticism of Porter’s temper, which critics say has been an ongoing issue.

In past reports, Porter’s behavior has been questioned, including a 2022 allegation by a former aide of bullying and an incident in her marriage where her ex-husband claimed she verbally abused him and once threw hot mashed potatoes at him. Her ex-husband also reported that she would often scratch herself when angry.

Now a candidate for governor, Porter is looking to succeed Gavin Newsom in the upcoming election on November 3rd.
